The BigHPC project consortium has published a paper at the International Conference for High Performance Computing, Networking, Storage, and Analysis 2020 (SC’20), which took place online, between November 9 and 19, 2020.

The article is entitled “Containerization on Petascale HPC Clusters”, and it presents the experiments running three state-of-the-art containerization technologies on the petascale Frontera system. This paper shows how we build the containers to ensure performance, security, and their performance at a certain scale. “This work demonstrates the potential of containerization techniques in HPC systems at the petascale cluster”, said Amit Ruhela, one of the authors of the paper.

The authors of this paper are Amit Ruhela, Matt Vaughn, Stephen Lien Harrell, Gregory J. Zynda, John Fonner, Richard Todd Evans, and Tommy Minyard, from Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC).
