In the beginning of May, some of BigHPC partners travelled to Rome, Italy, where they took part in this year edition of EuroSys conference, one of the most important events in the systems’ software research and development field. The researchers presented two posters. The first, entitled “Taming Metadata-intensive HPC Jobs Through Dynamic, Application-agnostic QoS Control”, was produced by Ricardo Macedo, Mariana Miranda, José Pereira, and João Paulo, from INESC TEC, Yusuke Tanimura and Jason Haga, from AIST, Amit Ruhela and Stephen L. Harrell, from TACC and UT Austin, and Richard Todd Evans, from Intel). The second one was “Understanding Storage I/O Patterns Through System Call Observability” and its authors were Tânia Esteves, Ricardo Macedo, Rui Oliveira and João Paulo, from INESC TEC.
EuroSys conferences aim to gather professionals from academia and industry, focusing on systems research and development. Over its 18 editions, EuroSys has established itself as a reference stage for discussing topics related to software research and development.
